As an extra treat this summer, my Mum took me to Manchester for a few days and arranged for us to go on tours of the Etihad Stadium, Old Trafford and also Anfield. It was great to be able to visit all three in one week.
We went to Manchester City’s Etihad stadium first and, as well as getting to visit the dressing rooms (my favourite thing), I also got to go down the players tunnel as though it was a match day. My Mum enjoyed getting her picture taken with Pep Guardiola – but he wasn’t really there!
The following day we went to Liverpool and visited Anfield. I again enjoyed seeing the home dressing room and was lucky enough to be able to get a Liverpool outfit. Of course it had to be no 11, Mo Salah.
On the third day we visited Old Trafford which was right by the hotel we stayed in and, as well as the stadium, I enjoyed spending time in the shop. It is interesting to see how different parts of each stadium are designed as they are all different sizes. The guides talk a lot about how psychology is used in designing spaces to try and give the home team an advantage.
Whilst visiting Manchester and Liverpool we did do some other things as well. We went to Crosby beach to see the iron statues there – Mum says they are by Anthony Gormley and called ‘Another Place’. We also visited the Imperial War Museum which was walking distance from our hotel. That was interesting and they showed original film from the world wars. We also went to the Trafford Centre which was huge. A short walk from our hotel by Old Trafford was Media City and there were plenty of restaurants there for us to go to. So we were staying in an area with plenty to do.

I now have been to 5 Premier League stadiums and I hope to be able to go to Madrid sometime to go to the two major stadiums there.
