A summer visit to Newcastle 2021
Because of Covid, my Mum said we would have any holidays in the UK this year. Our first trip was to Newcastle, stopping off on the way in Berwick on Tweed.
I love staying in hotels and we stayed in one in the centre of Berwick on Tweed. It was quite dull and drizzly so I didn’t find the town very interesting, but we did walk up on the walls above the river which is quite impressive.

We then travelled on to Newcastle. The weather was very wet so Mum tried to find things to do indoors. However we did manage to visit the Angel of the North. I was happy because there was a playing field right by it so I managed to play some football while we were there.

Due to covid restrictions, many attractions were still shut. We went around the city centre and into some of the shopping centres. On one very wet day we drove out to Tynemouth and went to the aquarium. I enjoyed this and would recommend it. We also found a good indoor play centre which had trampolines as well as ninja type courses.
On our last day the weather was better and we visited Beamish. It was interesting to see all the recreations of buildings from different times., but Mum enjoyed it more than me.
Overall it was a fun trip, but the weather meant we did not get out and see as much as we might have.
